Validation 2025
We are pleased to share with our school community the letter from the external validation team following their visit to Ballasalla Primary School on 6th October 2025. This visit, commissioned by The Isle of Man Department of Education, Sport and Culture (DESC), aimed to validate our school’s self-evaluation and support continuous improvement.
The letter highlights many strengths of our school, including the nurturing community culture, strong relationships, effective communication with parents through Class Dojo, personalised learning approaches, and the rich opportunities provided for pupils’ personal development. It also outlines areas for growth, such as further developing curriculum leadership, enhancing assessment practises, and refining professional development for staff.
We are committed to acting on the feedback and continuing to improve the learning experience for all pupils. You can read the full letter below for detailed insights from the validation team.

Performance Data
The following information provides a breakdown regarding levels of attainment in Years Two and Six at Ballasalla School the since 2019.
The data does not form a complete picture of achievement at our school which is measured by the individual progress a child makes and which is reported to you in terms of above/ below or expected progress in the End of Year Report.
The data does not show the differences between a cohort nor the range of Additional Needs, EAL or pupils who have transferred into our school.
It is a snapshot of attainment by that group of children as required by DESC under their Reporting and Assessing arrangements.
We are happy to discuss any trends and welcome feedback.
